If only I had an unlimited amount of cash to spend on make-up. IF ONLY. Instead of unlimited cash, I have limited cash that causes me to feel immense guilt when I spend $60 bucks or so a month on make-up. It’s a problem, but at least it’s make-up and not drugs. Obviously there are more important things to do before fall semester, but make-up shopping should totally be one of them. Anyways. Here are a few products that are on my back-to-school wishlist!
My Summer 2015 Beauty Wishlist
Ahh, another wishlist. I have this insatiable desire for beauty products–a thirst that cannot be quenched. I generally buy no products for a few weeks and then binge-buy on Ulta or at the drugstore in order to get free shipping or a discount. Anyways, here are some beauty products that I’ve been lusting after this summer!
+ NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator (Sunbeam) – $7.49 – I’m generally not a fan of any liquid products aside from eyeliner, concealer and foundation but I’ve been looking into a new beauty technique called strobing (see my article on it here) and this seems like an essential for doing this contour-y technique!
+ Coastal Scents Hot Pot (Caramel Ice)– $1.95 – I would’ve bought this by now if I didn’t only have the option to order it from the Coastal Scents website and pay shipping, ugh. All of the Coastal Scents products and brushes I’ve tried I’ve fallen in love with and so I’m very down for some new shades.
+ NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Ibiza) – $5.99 – I’m obsessed with NYX’s lip cream and this is one of the shades I, sadly, do not own.
+ e.l.f. Studio Lip Lock Pencil (Clear) – $3 – I’ve been digging bolder lip colors lately and my red lip liner makes a huge difference with my red lipstick so I’ve been dying to get my hands on this clear one that prevents feathered colors. Want!
+ L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Rock Mascara – $7.99 – I own two of the other manga mascaras and quite like them. L’Oreal has some of my FAVORITE mascaras and this one, although it looks really odd, intrigues me and I’m dying to try it. Plus, the packaging is so pretty.
Literally everything I want on this list is under $10. You might be wondering “Paige, why don’t you just buy some of these things?”. Good question. I hate spending money and most of these products I would have to order online and I refuse to pay shipping.
Also, sorry all of these products are like oatmeal colored and plain looking. I love me a bold lip color but most of my beauty products are pretty basic. We can’t all have strong aesthetic 24/7. Life isn’t a fashion blog.

MOTD: Patriotic Makeup for 4th of July
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July filled with fireworks and barbecue (or maybe just sitting at home, whatever works for you). I wanted to share my surprisingly wearable but also patriotic 4th of July makeup look! The look is also featuring my simple but festive nails!
I originally tried doing a funky winged eyeliner look using the NYX White Liquid Liner that is SO opaque but that was a train wreck. Disclaimer: Apparently you cannot layer eye shadows over the eyeliner, they look cracked and are not opaque. I decided to just trash that look and make up a new one (with only ten minutes to spare).
I ended up with this look that’s basically white shadows with red and blue in the crease. There’s some sparkle over the white (it’s hard to see) and the rest of my makeup remained fairly neutral with a matte red lip to top it off.
For this look, it made a huge difference when I used a light gray to shade the crease of the white and I also used a darker red and a navy to blend the crease of the red and blue accents. I also used my favorite neutral shimmer to blend out the red and blue—also a key point.
Anyways, that was my look! It lasted the entire day (although the lips faded) and I’m really happy with how it turned out! I wish I knew how to apply false lashes–they would’ve been perfect for this look.

Wishlist: May 2015
We all want things, don’t we? Here are some things I’ve got my eye on for the month of May!
I collect heart shaped sunglasses and thus, these incredibly unique tortoise-shell half-frame heart shaped sunnies are an absolute dream, right? WRONG. They’re from Forever 21 (aka they’re probably super cheap, too) but they are sold out which, in Forever 21 world, means probably never going to be seen again because they change stock so often. Sigh.
Urban Decay 2010 Alice in Wonderland Palette
This palette not only looks incredibly beautiful and pop-up picture bookish, but the colors are a perfect mix of shimmery neutrals and fun brights. I am in love, I am so in love. But, I will never own it—it is retired and gone it was limited edition in 2010. More sighs.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Crème in “Copenhagen”
Since I’ve become quite obsessed with dark lip colors, I have had my eye on this one. I love Nyx and their soft matte lip cremes, so I obviously fell in love with this shade. I’ve been dying for this shade since Christmas—I cannot find it in any store! I will probably cave and order it soon. I must have it.
I’ve never tried any LUSH products. Every beauty blogger and magazine raves about these and basically treats their products like their holy water and they are being baptized with bubble gum and sea salt concoctions. I’m quite intrigued and the prices aren’t as bad as I thought. Maybe I’ll cave and try one out.
Vivitar Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker
I love singing in the shower. Now that I will be leaving the huge shared bathrooms and will have a townhouse in which I can freely sing in the shower (and even play music), I need this. Technology is amazing–music in the shower?! Gone are the days where I tried to put my iPod and speakers in the bathroom and cringe as the steam altered the sound and probably damaged the wires. Poof.
