This is what happens when I’m bored and listening to Halsey. This look is the LITERAL definition of “I’m feeling myself”. I can’t stop staring at it. Is that narcissistic? Or am I just an artist proud of her work? I’ve always been fond of pastel goth trend. If you haven’t heard of that it’s basically cute pastels crossed with black and goth elements. It’s freaking bad ass. Here’s a cool example of pastel goth make up. I did this look just for fun and it will probably never see the light of day. The black lipstick with purple accent will definitely never. Anyway, let me explain the look a little more and tell you about the products I used to achieve it!
Look how pale I am! Perk to being super pale is that the colors pop and I look even more gothic. Amazing. I actually started this look without any cool lip color. I’m not talented at doing “lip art” whatsoever but I figured why not try some cool color? This below is the look before the black lips. It could easily just be a casual and colorful cutesy look.
Now, for those lips. I used a black crayon eyeliner by Jordana to line my lips (don’t think you should do that but, it works,) and then I took a black Halloween lipstick. Yes, you heard me. It was literally one dollar and it’s black Halloween lipstick. I filled my lips in with the lipstick then took a NYX purple liquid liner (again, probably shouldn’t go on your lips) and dabbed it in the center of my lips for a purple base. Next, I took a shimmery purple Wet n Wild Color Icon shadow (more product info listen below) and dabbed it on my lips. My lips felt incredibly dry and gross, needless to say I took this lipstick off as soon as I was done with the dozens of selfies. Taking it off was super gross, the liner flaked off and looked like chunks of mascara. Delish. < As for the face, I went incredibly simple and just used concealer and some powder with a light blush and highlight. I wanted to keep my deathly gothic natural skin tone so no bronzer. My eyebrow game is so weak but I couldn’t be bothered to fix them too much. My eyes are a combo of a million colors and I used the Scotch tape method to give my shadow a clean cut on the edges. I mostly used the Coastal Scents 252 shade palette which I mention in every makeup post. I also finally used the Too Faced Cat Eyes palette! Boom. There’s the look. FACE+BROWS: Maybelline Fit Me! Matte+Poreless Powder (120) // e.l.f. Studio Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter (Light) // e.l.f Essential Blush (Shy) // Random shadow from an old palette to fill in my brows // e.l.f Studio Tone Correcting Powder // Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara EYES: LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil (Saltwater) // Nyx Hot Singles Shadow (Diamond Lust) // Color Concept Eye For Beauty 50 Shades Palette // Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette // Too Faced Cat Eyes Eye Shadow Palette // Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner (Jet) // Buxom Lash Mascara (Black) // e.l.f Essential Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer (Pearl) // L.A. Colors 3 Shadow Palette (Shooting Star) // LIPS: Jordana Quickliner Eyes (Black) // Nyx Studio Liquid Liner (Extreme Purple) // Fantasy Maker Lipstick (Black)
This is gorgeous!
Thank you! 🙂
LOVE this look! I have such a weakness for darker/gothic looks, and I love the burst of colour in it too
Thank you so much! Goth looks are so fun to look at, I definitely have a secret love of them.
