When it comes to Valentine’s Day, most people either hate it or love it. I can’t say I have that strong of an opinion the holiday, I could take it or leave it. I really do love Valentine’s themed products at Target and all of the discounts on chocolate, but I can’t say I’ve ever really cared much for V Day as a whole. I hate how crowded most places get and all of the braggy Snapchat stories about promise rings and purses. Really, Valentine’s Day is usually an excuse for my friends and me to order heart-shaped pizza and get dolled up, or for my boyfriend and I to go on a fun date.

So as you can see from the hashtag, this post is sponsored. As a huge fan of drugstore cosmetics and Rimmel in particular, I was so psyched to partner up with this brand. I’ve mentioned Rimmel and my obsession with the matte look too many times before on the blog and today I’m here to discuss two of my favorite things: matte makeup products and colorful eye makeup
In terms of the dewy v. matte foundation finish debate, I’m 10000% team matte. Maybe I’m afraid of the dewy look bordering on oily and shiny or perhaps I like to play it safe with a matte complexion. Honestly, there’s just something so elegant and wonderful about a matte face. Personally, I think colorful eye makeup that’s full of glitter is perfectly complimented by smooth, matte skin.
Valentine’s Day MOTD & Galentine’s Day Party
Happy Valentine’s Day to those who hate it and those who love it and those who love to hate it. Personally, I’m indifferent about the day but I do love the omnipresent reds, pinks and heart prints. Is anything cuter than red, pink and hearts? I also love a good excuse to play with makeup and draw a heart on my cheek a la Marina & the Diamonds.
So here’s time for a Valentine’s Day MOTD and a few Galentine’s Day ideas for you and your crew.
