How to make the most of your lunch break / ew & pt #ad #Myvitaminwater #vwlabelcontest

Even though I don’t go hiking through waterfalls and traveling the world on a daily basis, I think my life is pretty interesting. I just adopted two kittens (and made them an Instagram), I intern in NYC five days a week and I’m only 21. There’s a lot going on. But, from 9:00 – 5:30 on weekdays, the level of interesting takes a dip.

Work is, well, work. But I don’t want to let it get me down or feel like it has to be a boring part of my day. So, I’ve decided to start using my half hour  – one hour lunch breaks to keep things interesting. Here’s how you can, too.

Paige’s pages — the best and worst books of July 2018

Paige's pages — the best and worst books of July 2018 - millennial book recommendations

The one main thing I love about summer and commuting back and forth for 3-4 hours each day is the fact that I can read so. many. books.

I love reading! It makes my long commute so much better and helps me feel productive, even when I’m not. As I work through my Goodreads reading challenge, I find myself uncovering a lot of books I really enjoyed and some I absolutely hated.

I’m usually a tough critic, especially with young adult novels, so I was so pleasantly surprised to have found so many gems this month. Especially in intense yet comedic YA fiction! I might make this a monthly series because I read so many books and love reading other people’s book posts to find new recommendations. We’ll see how that goes. Anyway, here are my best and worst books of the month of July.

Please note that I am too lazy to give plot summaries and write really in-depth reviews. If you want a description and more details, you can click on the book’s title to be brought to its Goodreads page. I’m just giving you a quick down-low and my thoughts.

6 Gradual Ways to Minimize

6 Gradual Ways to Minimize - easy ways to declutter and become a minimalist - ew & pt

I often say I’m a minimalist….and I say that to sarcastically justify all of the crap I own. I especially said that phrase every time I moved into college with far too many things and no legitimate reason I needed all of them.

While it’s nice to go rogue and declutter (I’ve made an intense guide about decluttering for packrats if you’re down to go full force into minimizing), I also find a lot of value in the more gradual ways to minimize and simplify. Not everything in life is going to be insane and excessive. Sometimes you just need to throw away an item here and there and these tips will make it a little easier to do so.

So, really, we’re running a marathon and not a sprint with these tips. And unless you’re moving out or going backpacking ASAP, it’s totally fine to take things slow. Let’s get into it.

The Guide to Setting Goals and Actually Achieving Them

The Guide to Setting Goals and Actually Completing Them

I hate the “#GoalDigger” trend that’s being gold embossed all over notebooks and coffee mugs. I know it’s supposed to be clever and cute but frankly, I think it missed the mark. You don’t dig up goals and I know I’m being super literal with this one but ugh. I’m also sick of seeing “Girl Boss” on everything. Why can’t I just be a boss without having to add my gender in front?

Anyway, this is about goals. And it’s about setting goals that can actually be completed. Funny enough, part of the reason I’m writing this post right now during my last week of college when I should be doing 100 other things like packing or getting ready for senior formal is because of a goal. Three years ago, I set a goal to post twice a week on ew&pt. When that was too overwhelming based on my workload and schedule, I made the goal more realistic by posting once a week. I’ve yet to fail this one and I post every week no matter how busy and crazy life gets. It’s goal that matters to me and it’s one of the very, very few I actually stick to.

Because at the end of the day, setting goals is easy but setting good ones can be tough. Actually achieving them is even tougher. Here’s how we can work on this. Emphasis on the “we.”
