Product Obsession: Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream Swatches

I’m about to rave about one of my absolute favorite lip products of all time. I’m pretty sure I mention these in every beauty post, but I’ve gathered them all together for swatching and sharing purposes. They are ~Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams~ and they are AMAZING.

I own a lot of them (but not all) and thus, I’ve got some Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream swatches for you here today and I’m going to share my absolute favorites.

I have 7 of these and hope to collect even more, hoarding lip products that I love is the definition of product obsession. IE: Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains that I have about 40 of. These Nyx soft matte lip creams have begun to replace the Revlon drawer and here they are.

1- Tokyo – This is a very light bubblegum pink color. It reminds me of my girl Marina & the Diamonds‘ signature lip color during her Electra Heart era. I only really use this in the center of my lips as a highlight sort of deal, never on its own. Way too light to be worn on its own with my fair skin!

2 –San Paulo – This is one of my favorite colors from the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream collections! It’s very neutral and it adds some great color to your lips. It’s the perfect cool toned dark neutral shade.

3- Antwerp – I don’t use this one too often because it has a warm, orange tinge that doesn’t work for my cool skin tone. It’s great for an ombre lip or adding some dimension to a different color, though!

4- Prague – This is my newest one and I really like it. It’s sort of like a berry-tinged dark nude if that makes sense.

5- Addis Ababa – This color is actually the most disappointing of the bunch. It looks bright pink in the tube and swatches decently, but on the lips it is not vibrant at all. I use this for a sheer wash of color occasionally, but it doesn’t get much use.

6- Monte Carlo – This is my FAVE! It’s the PERFECT cool red color. I’m in love with this color. It’s red without being overwhelming and I can be found wearing this almost all of the time, like in my 4th of July MOTD.

7- Copenhagen – I searched for this color for months before finally finding it and I’m in actual love. It’s the perfect vampy shade but it can be blended into a gorgeous berry stain. OBSESSED.

When it comes to buying these, I recommend buying them at Ulta when they do BOGO Nyx products, which they do SO often. CVS does carry Nyx, but I’ve found that their lip creams are often not restocked and do not have all of the colors that the Ulta or Nyx website does.

Now, if I had to choose the absolute top three that every beauty enthusiast should have in her arsenal, I would have to go with San Paulo, Monte Carlo and Copenhagen.
